- What was your creative collaboration on the event or installation you worked on with Conceptual Reality?
Answer: The event I collaborated on was a Halloween party sponsored by the Soho House and was themed after the musical artist Prince. I was asked to create original choreography to iconic Prince songs as the opening act of a live show to celebrate the artist. Having been an original cast member in some of Prince's early music videos, I was thrilled to be able to participate in this collaborative production. I especially appreciated the strive towards authenticity of the whole event from the creative aspect. Every detail of the theme was meticulously planned out which challenged me as a choreographer to bring that same energy to my contribution to the event.
- As an artist and/or creative, what do you consider your forte in the work you do?
As an artist, I consider my forte to be bringing entertainment to audiences through dance and acting. I have always had a passion for entertaining people in fun and creative ways through the arts. I am always trying to influence others with my artistic taste, knowledge and continued observations through the education of dance and acting.
- How long have you considered yourself a professional artist?
I was born an artist but consider myself to be a professional at my skills as an artist for over 25 years.
- What is your hope for the future?
Answer: My hope for the future is to have more diversity on all of my platforms. From plays, to movies, to television, etc. It’s been a slow evolution but it’s time to see that America isn’t made up of only one gender or color. I feel what makes America, America is the fact that it’s citizens are made up of such a mix of so many different backgrounds and I feel it’s time those people and their backgrounds should be represented more often and authentically.
- What are you working on now?
At the present moment, I am working privately with dancers and professional ice skaters as well as various acting projects.
